The Art of Happiness

"Be happy with what you have until you pursue what you want" said by the legend, Jim Rohn.

I was in a convention at Anaheim last month when I heard the news that Mr. Rohn passed away 2 hours ago.  I was surrounded by thousands of people who admired the growth they have achieved through his work, and we were all in complete awe when we heard the news.  Rest In Peace to Jim Rohn, and my condolence go out to his entire family.  He has taught me a lot of things over the years and today I am going to share one of them to you.

The feeling of happiness is separate from economics, traveling or money.  Happiness is an art that can be mastered by anyone that wants to study and practice it.  Happiness must be woven and can't be just left to chance.  When you  are having a Happy Birthday, you need to weave the day to make it happy, and not just expect it to be accidental.

I went to Detroit (last September) for an event and had one of the greatest weekends of my life.  The host for the weekend wove the events so well that I am certain that anyone that was involved will remember it for the rest of their lives, because it was woven so well.  So if you want a fantastic weekend, you need to weave a fantastic weekend.

Fortunately, anyone can weave a happy life if they are truly interested, and they can do it all with their present resources.  Money can buy you a supersonic airliner like the Concord, which can take you to places faster, but it doesn't make you any happier.  Henry Kissinger (noble prize winner) makes the most of his journeys when flying on the Concord, as he shares an interesting day he had: having breakfast in Paris, lunch in London, and dinner in New York.  Isn't that just an exciting day being able to have a meal in three different countries over one day? He even got to see two sunsets that day: one in London, and one in New York! Wow!

Jim Rohn puts it best: be happy with what you got until you pursue what you want.  You don't need to postpone your happiness until you fulfill your desires.  Don't miss the experience or the extravaganza that you can have every single day.

You will have happiness for a lifestyle if you take this as seriously as you take anything else.

Happy days!

Pen That SCANS Documents??

Now I've seen it all folks!

We've all must've sat in class and heard the "psst!" sound from the guy beside you asking to copy your stuff.  If you haven't heard that before, then consider the fact that YOU are Mr. Copy Cat!  None the less, who needs to copy anymore when you're living in 2010 with a pen that can literally scan and save documents instantly!

I am referring to the fancy "PlanOn DocuPen RC850" which can scan up to 100 pages and can be immediately imported to a computer using it's USB feature.  Of course, it wasn't exactly made to steal notes, rather to scan important documents or making digital copies of receipts, but I am sure we can all get creative!

I know what I am putting on MY WISHLIST for my birthday =)

Have a great night randomizers,

Mr. RT

The Power of Words

What are WORDS that come out of your mouth?

If you really think about the process:

Words are simply thoughts that goes down to your lungs and diaphragm, and tells the diaphragm to contract and push some air out of the mouth, which then vibrates the chords to make sound distortion, and finally is shaped by your tongue and your mouth.

So in reality, words are simply MANIPULATED AIR!

Let's take it up a notch though: words also have the power of life and death.  If you are the positive influencer, you get to be the words of life that builds people up and sends them on their way to impact the words around them.

Words can literally change a person's physiology and make their brains release chemicals without their permission!  Ladies, next time you see something or a quality that a guy possess that really attracts you, don't hesitate to tell them.  I don't care how depressed or down the person is, you will instantly release some happy chemicals (along with many other strange feelings for the guy) in his head that will literally breathe life into his system.  Fascinating!

Have a fantastic day,

Mr RT

Facts About Your Memory

Here is some interesting statistics for you learning benefit:

You only remember approximately 10% of what you read.
You only remember approximately 20% of what you hear.
You only remember approximately 30% of what you see.
You will remember approximately 50% of what you hear and see together.
You will remember approximately 70% of what you say. (If you think as you are saying it)
You will remember approximately 90% of what you do.

My advice: RE-READ, but do more than just read.  Actions will be remembered the most, so take ACTION!

Speaking of memory, I have received some incredible (and pricey!) gifts throughout the last few Christmas seasons but I will never forget the gift I got when I was a little child.  Instead of buying me one really huge toy for big bucks, they bought tons of $2-$5 assorted mini-toys and filled up a 2-litre bottle of pop with it.  When I saw it, I was jumping for joy and kept playing it until I started losing them all one-by-one.  I think that was my first sign of clumsiness!

None the less, never forget that kids are JUST kids!  They are in a world with no limits and price tags to them are just a number that they cannot seem to read.  Use your imagination to put together a nice quantity of creative things, and stop worrying about giving them the best brands.  Besides, you still have a few years before they give in to peer pressure and demand brand names in order to hang out with the cool kids.

Until next time,

Mr. RT

Strange Strange World...

Quite ironic, isn't it?

When was the last time you sat in the bus and had a stranger sitting next to you rambling about random things in life: his likes and dislikes, his love and hatred, his thoughts and opinions, and his dangerous ability to vent more than an air conditioner?

If your answer is "never", than today is the day, because I am going to be that stranger to you. You probably don't know me, and you probably won't meet me. But what you will soon learn is that you start to know me in levels that don't require meeting.

I like to believe that I am a good speaker and a better listener. I hope we can agree that I am a good writer and a better reader. This is the "Random Tandem" so you can send anything (literally): questions, comments, and stalking-love letters to supportrandom@gmail.com

Yours truly,

Mr. RT
